Trustee Vacancies 2017
Wheatsheaf Trust, Southampton – New Trustee Positions
Wheatsheaf Trust is a Hampshire-based charity which works with local people to help them overcome significant disadvantage in order to access employment and training. Established for 16 years, in 2016 the Trust supported over 1,000 people across South Hampshire to improve their life chances and get into work, or into training for work. The Trust believes fundamentally that employment is the most effective way to tackle poverty and to stabilise chaotic lives.
The Trust is looking for exceptional people who are passionate about helping people to overcome social exclusion to join its talented Board and take an active role in shaping the charity to maximise its social impact, and broaden its funding base.
In particular we are looking for a trustee with strong business and finance skills to join the Finance Sub-Committee, and for trustees with experience in compliance and change management. The Trust is needing to adapt to more straitened times, and the new trustee roles will be closely engaged, along with the existing Board, in establishing Wheatsheaf’s strategic direction for the medium term.
For anyone worried about making a long term commitment, we welcome applications from those who might be interested in being co-opted onto one of our committees on a short-term basis to work on particular projects or areas of Wheatsheaf’s work.
Key trustee responsibilities are set out in the attached trustee role description.
To apply for any of these positions, please send a CV and short cover letter to tell us why you would be interested in the post, all applications to be sent to via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
